FAQs
At CSN Autos, we're always happy to answer any questions you may have. Here, we answer some of our most frequently asked questions:
We offer a few different servicing options to suit most budgets and requirements, our Silver service we recommend between annual or major services on very low mileage vehicles or vehicles covering exceptional mileage annually. Our gold service or annual service is recommended annually or every 12 months and finally our platinum service or major service is recommended every 24 to 36 months to ensure the vehicle is kept in tip-top condition.
Absolutely! Due to the motor vehicle block exemption rulings, we are able to carry out servicing on your new vehicle. We only ever use the best OEM or genuine parts and the correct Shell motor oils, so this ensures your warranty is unaffected.
We use many different technical resources to find the correct oil for your vehicle, however, Shell offer a great look-up guide, which you can read by following this link:
Unless otherwise discussed our usual drop-off time is 8-9 am (our first MOT slot is 8.45 am so if you have this slot please arrive at least 5 minutes earlier) You are also more than welcome to drop your vehicle off the day before or ‘out of hours’ and post your keys through our door.
Unfortunately, for various reasons, we do not fit customer-supplied parts
Dealing with warranty companies is incredibly time-consuming and often results in claims not being paid and us having to deliver bad news, for that reason we do not deal with warranty companies in any capacity anymore.
An MOT test takes approximately 45 minutes but it’s best to allow an hour for paperwork etc to be completed. Obviously, if the vehicle fails, especially due to dangerous defects it is best to have a backup plan as it will be best to leave the vehicle with us to be repaired.
If your MOT has expired you are only allowed to drive to or from a test station to a pre-booked MOT test, unfortunately, there is no grace period, however, we offer free MOT reminders, and you are welcome to book your MOT well in advance.
A DPF is part of the vehicle’s emissions reduction system, DPF systems often present faults but rarely just require regeneration or cleaning, we find that there is always an underlying issue that has caused the vehicle to register a fault with the DPF system.
It’s always best to double-check in your owner’s handbook, however generally speaking if the light is amber and the vehicle is driven as usual it is safe to be driven but arrange repair as soon as possible. Red warnings however should not normally be driven any further.
